Campion Education is proudly family-owned and is the largest supplier of education materials, including print, digital and stationery resources, in Australia. It works with close to 3,000 schools in Australia, getting more than 600,000 students ready for school each year through a matrix of operations including home delivery, digital provisioning and 15 retail stores.
Clients and other businesses find Campion has a laser-like focus on what’s best for school communities, whether that be staff, teachers, parents or students. Service is the firm’s overriding priority, and its internal culture is centred on whatever is necessary to make things run smoothly, whether that be visiting a school, dropping off a sample or spending hours untangling a problem.
Illustrating how engrained this proactive attitude is, national sales manager Rob Moschetti explains, “We’re dedicated education specialists, so we understand what schools need at every point in time. Right through our organisation we service schools – even the managing director manages a number of school accounts. That means there is a breadth of knowledge right across our organisation and expertise in working with schools, from the principals and heads of teaching and learning, the business managers, the teachers and heads of department and the front office staff. We do whatever is needed to make it happen for the schools we serve.”
This key time in Campion’s year is aided by onboarding 1,500 casual staff all across Australia, which enables the business at its peak to pack 10,000 orders daily. The depth of experience in schools is seen in the longevity of Campion’s team. Managing director James Cathro assumed his role 25 years ago.
Despite its rich heritage, Campion has innovated and added a powerful digital platform to its offerings. MyConnect2 software brings together all the digital resources and e-textbooks students and teachers need with seamless access, secure data transfer and fantastic learning and accessibility features. It is the leading digital eBook platform in Australia.
Continuing their desire to keep innovating, ongoing development is in the area of new accessibility tools. MyConnect2 includes functions such as Immersive Reader, which help support students who have learning challenges such as dyslexia or where English is their second language. Continual investment in the platform to remain the leader in edtech for Australian schools will see enhancements to tools for school staff such as self-reporting and systems integration and continual improvement in security. However, that doesn’t mean Campion is wavering in its core commitment.
Moschetti says, “We have the experience to understand what’s important to schools – having students ready to go on day 1. We support hundreds of thousands of families each year and help schools deliver the best learning outcomes for students across Australia, and we are proud of the role we play in the education of Australia’s children.”
“We continue to see cyber as a key opportunity and will be further developing customer-centric solutions across various geographies and segments in line with our growth aspirations”
