Profile
Isabel Horspool is a primary school teacher at Bishop Druitt College, currently teaching kindergarten. She began her teaching career as a casual teacher in 2022 before securing her first full-year contract in 2023. Since then, she has worked in both RFF (Relief From Face-to-Face) and classroom teacher roles, experiences that have deepened her understanding of diverse learners and strengthened her classroom practice.
Horspool has been fortunate to work alongside experienced, generous colleagues whose guidance and mentorship have significantly shaped her professional growth. Their support has fostered her reflective, collaborative approach and reinforced her belief in lifelong learning.
Her teaching philosophy centres on equity, inclusion and care. Horspool is committed to creating a calm, welcoming classroom where every child feels safe, valued and supported. She believes that when students experience a strong sense of belonging, they are more confident to participate, take risks and make meaningful progress in their learning.
Through ongoing professional learning and reflective practice, Horspool continually refines her teaching to improve student outcomes and nurture a genuine love of learning that extends beyond the early years. Building strong relationships with students, families and colleagues is central to her work, as she believes learning flourishes within a connected and collaborative school community.

Bishop Druitt College offers more than just schooling—it delivers a well-rounded, future-focused education grounded in strong values. Established in 1991 through the vision of Ken Langford-Smith in partnership with Bruce Schultz, the college has grown into a thriving learning community supported by dedicated staff and modern facilities. Students benefit from a balanced program that blends academic excellence with rich opportunities in the arts, sport, leadership, and more—helping them discover their strengths and build confidence for life beyond school.
The journey begins with a strong preschool transition into Kindergarten, where children are welcomed into a nurturing and engaging environment designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning from day one. With personalised support and meaningful early learning experiences, BDC ensures every child feels confident and ready as they begin school.
