Jade West is an experienced educator and leader at Salesian College Sunbury, where she is proud to serve as director – staff learning. She views the college as a dynamic educational setting committed to cultivating the conditions for staff and students to thrive. She leads a whole-school coaching program that has strengthened staff wellbeing and maintains a focus on high-impact pedagogy and leadership. She also oversees the mentor program for the Salesian Offshore VCE program in Tokyo, Japan, supporting educator growth in an international context.
West has worked within the Salesian Sunbury community for nearly two decades, holding a range of roles, including classroom teacher, English learning area leader, PLC leader and coach. She is passionate about professional growth, designing meaningful and relevant learning experiences that empower educators at every stage of their careers.
Beyond her work at the college, West contributes to the broader educational community through conference presentations, podcast appearances and journal submissions. Her leadership is grounded in a human-centred philosophy, with a strong commitment to inclusive leadership, honest communication, deep listening and reflection. She is particularly interested in how a common understanding of a school’s unique context and shared purpose may foster aligned, positive school culture.
