Darren Cox is a passionate and transformational leader who is the foundation principal of Marsden Park Anglican College in Sydney’s rapidly growing North West. He has previously led the development of a small school of 180 students to one of the most sought-after schools in the Hunter region, now catering for nearly 1200 students. Cox is a confident and inspiring leader who has been involved in education for over 30 years. He is an empowering leader who has created a successful culture of professional learning, leadership development and wellbeing for all. He is an outstanding and motivating speaker and leader who has a love for people and life, and his vision, passion and enthusiasm are contagious.
Cox is an experienced and dedicated principal with proven leadership and communication skills. His leadership style seeks to combine strong collaboration and positivity, while developing the strengths of each staff member to outwork the mission of the organisation.
Through his understanding and insight into leadership, improvement and engagement whilst building an innovative and modern school, Cox serves as an influential educator – regularly presenting at conferences as well as inspiring and coaching other school leaders through educational think tanks.
Cox has contributed to the wider education community through his role as a mentor principal for aspiring principals, leadership coach and member of numerous educational boards.

A significant part of his focus today is staying ahead of regulatory change while maintaining a seamless client experience. He tracks updates from regulators and lenders closely and works with his teams to adjust systems as needed.
“My approach to my role and my career has always been rooted in passion, focus, and a relentless pursuit of excellence,” he says. “I’ve never been driven solely by profit or business metrics. I believe in hiring great talent, trusting them, and pushing boundaries because innovation doesn’t come from playing it safe.”
His experience isn’t limited to Canada. Ibrahim has worked in the US and UAE, which shaped his global perspective and comfort with adapting to different markets. He thrives on risk, viewing setbacks as stepping stones to progress.
