Ronnelle Sanders is a passionate lead educator with a deep love for learning, particularly in literacy across all age groups, especially in the early years. With extensive experience as both a primary and early years teacher, as well as an English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D) coordinator in both state and independent sectors, Ronnelle brings a wealth of knowledge and innovation to her work.
She has made significant contributions to the field, presenting at local, national and international literacy conferences. Ronnelle is also actively involved in professional organisations, co-founding the English as an Additional Language Community of Practice (EALCOP). Her involvement extends to action research projects through Independent Schools Queensland, focusing on enhancing parent engagement and developing tools to support families and their children.
One of Ronnelle’s notable achievements includes co-developing innovative resources like the TalkTime Keys, designed to foster conversation and reading among families. Originally developed for the St John’s school community, these keys have expanded to benefit educational settings, schools and parents beyond. Through co-authoring and publishing, Ronnelle continues to share her insights widely, promoting the importance of oracy development, where students learn through meaningful conversation to deepen their understanding of curriculum subjects.
