Kylie Power has worked in Catholic education for 28 years. She has held leadership positions in student wellbeing, student management, learning diversity, learning innovation, staff wellbeing, child protection, and parent and community engagement. Keenly aware of the need to be innovative and creative in the current education landscape, she places her current work at Iona College in the vanguard of holistic education. Innovative thinking that seeks to better the lives of each student and staff member is what drives her motivation to build a new school from the ground up. Committed to excellence in education, Power prides herself on leading with strong communication and interpersonal skills. With a proven capacity to establish direction through a clearly articulated vision, she encourages others to take ownership while co-creating a unique culture that will set Iona up for success long into the future.
Establishing identity and shaping culture excites and motivates Power as a leader. Aligning processes and implementing plans that have, as their purpose, to motivate others to become part of the change that will support them in their work. She offers the capacity to develop structures and learning programs designed to create positive learning environments through the development, implementation and ongoing critical review of a comprehensive curriculum that is responsive to 21st century needs. The effective and collaborative leadership skills that she has honed in her various roles allow students and staff in her care to thrive and be prepared for an exciting future.
Power has designed strategic whole-school approaches to wellbeing for learning, avoiding a traditional siloed approach, and has supported other professionals and school communities in this innovative space.
Leading social emotional curriculum projects that embed current wellbeing science into school culture and community is her passion and joy, as well as aligning processes and implementing plans that are designed to motivate others to become part of the change that will support them in their work.
