Terri Myles is a passionate educator and program designer at St Andrews Lutheran College, dedicated to helping young people discover their passions and use them to make a positive impact.
In the past year, Myles led the development of IMAGINE, a future-focused Year 9 program that empowers students to become changemakers through eight key competencies: creativity, curiosity, criticism, communication, composure, compassion, citizenship and collaboration. Launched in 2025, IMAGINE builds on the college’s successful INNOV8 and IC (Innovate and Create) programs, extending entrepreneurial thinking into innovation with empathy. Students partner with organisations such as aged-care facilities and environmental groups, turning classroom learning into purposeful, real-world action. The year culminates in the Imagine Passion Project Showcase, where students present their projects to the community.
Myles was recently invited to speak at The Future of Education Summit, sharing her insights on embedding innovation and equity within the curriculum. With strong support from the college leadership, she has helped cultivate a dedicated team that embraces new approaches to teaching and learning.
Community feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with one parent remarking, “I wish this was a program when I was at school.” Myles is committed to ensuring education evolves to prepare students for a rapidly changing world.
