Kate Frewin is a dedicated and highly experienced educator, bringing over 20 years of teaching expertise to her role. Her journey began in Victoria and later took her to Queensland, where she has embraced a variety of teaching and leadership positions – including classroom teacher, learning enrichment teacher, pedagogy coach and technologies specialist. Since joining St Margaret’s in 2020, Frewin has played a pivotal role as assistant head of primary – curriculum and as a member of the senior leadership team, driving meaningful enhancements in curriculum and pedagogy. Her work is guided by a commitment to evidence-informed practice and a belief in designing academic programs that nurture the unique growth and needs of every child.
Frewin has been instrumental in developing St Margaret’s innovative Prep–Year 6 STEM curriculum, crafting Gifted and Talented and Acceleration Policies, and ensuring the consistent use of robust data tools to help teachers understand and support student growth. More recently, she has led staff in exploring and applying a range of evidence-based teaching strategies, fostering a culture of professional growth and collaboration that has elevated teaching practice across the school.
With a deep understanding of curriculum, pedagogy and contemporary learning, Frewin is passionate about creating flexible, engaging and future-focused opportunities. She is committed to empowering girls with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.
