launching the AI Academy, where students from Year 5 to 12 create artificially intelligent applications utilising machine learning
shifting from a focus on chaplaincy and chapel to Echoes and Dialogues, Socratic forums for young people to discuss the big issues of our times through a philosophical lens
introducing the third iteration of Westbourne’s Learning to Lead initiative, a flagship six-month professional learning program for all staff, which has already seen 150 graduates
establishing onsite allied health services, providing access to physiotherapy, myotherapy and chiropractic treatments throughout the day
Dr Camm has also pioneered by creating an AI avatar of himself; the digital twin understands and appropriately responds to human speech. It looks exactly like him, generates responses with a voice clone in 50 different languages with perfect translation, has realistic facial expressions, body moves and gestures, and utilises an extensive knowledge base.
As part of leading Westbourne and the industry forward, he is redefining what it means to be in charge.
Dr Camm says, “Shifting the ‘hero leader’ trope is an important part of navigating this challenge. Contemporary leadership in the 21st century must be distributed and centred around a team-based approach that is about empowerment and the collective.”
He also wants to showcase the possibilities in education and shift perceptions.
“I am deeply passionate about changing the negative rhetoric and narrative that is so often portrayed in the media about schools and teachers,” says Dr Camm. “It’s about having a vision that extends beyond the present challenges and looking at how we can contribute to the broader landscape of education and leadership on a national and global scale.”
As a serial award winner, which has earned him a formidable reputation, Dr Camm admits that achievement for him is what he can enable in others.
He says, “I have worked so hard throughout my career to get to where I am today and have been fortunate to be acknowledged with many individual accolades.
“The one element of my job that gives me energy and continued motivation is playing a small role in supporting, encouraging, mentoring and empowering others to achieve their career goals. That’s what really motivates me.”
