Marise McConaghy is a highly respected educator with deep expertise in girls’ education, leadership development, staff mentoring, wellbeing and community engagement. With a background in teaching English and drama, she brings a strong appreciation for the arts and their role in shaping reflective, sincere and empathetic young women. McConaghy is widely admired for her ability to inspire courage, kindness and thoughtfulness in her students — qualities that closely reflect Queenwood’s values of truth, courage and service. Ann Brewer is an accomplished leader and a catalyst in the fields of education, leadership and organisational behaviour. As the former director of research at the Scots College and an emeritus professor at the University of Sydney, she has dedicated her career to shaping the future of education and empowering the next generation of leaders. Brewer is the author of 10 books, including her recent works on careers, leadership, coaching and mentoring. Her extensive body of work includes over 50 publications in top-tier journals, book chapters and conference proceedings. Beyond academia, she is an accredited executive coach, a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of external boards. Brewer is an enthusiastic advocate for leadership development, particularly for women in leadership.

Sue Kerr is a seasoned educational leader dedicated to student wellbeing and the development of authentic, values-driven leadership. As Queenwood’s director of wellbeing, she leads with empathy, integrity and a deep belief in nurturing the strengths of others. Holding a Master of Student Wellbeing from the University of Melbourne, Kerr is a passionate advocate for building strong, connected school communities. She places a particular focus on meaningful parent engagement, working closely with families to rebuild parental confidence and foster collaborative partnerships. Kerr’s work is grounded in the belief that strong relationships between home and school are key to helping young people flourish.

Allison McCulloch is Queenwood’s director of curriculum, bringing a strong academic foundation through her qualifications in economics, education and religious education (BEc, MA, DipEd, and GradDipRE). She oversees curriculum design and delivery across Years 7–12, including both the HSC and IB Diploma Programme, ensuring a rigorous, inclusive and future-focused academic environment. A passionate educator and writer, McCulloch is a strong advocate for evidence-based teaching and learning. She also champions student wellbeing through initiatives such as the Smart Study program, which supports healthy learning habits. Her leadership reflects a commitment to excellence, balance and lifelong learning.

Gregory McArdle serves as head of technological and applied studies at Queenwood, bringing over three decades of expertise in advancing STEM education. An advocate for gender equity in technology, he has pioneered initiatives that expand opportunities for girls in STEM fields. Under McArdle’s stewardship, the department has implemented innovative programs in coding, robotics, CAD-based design and advanced manufacturing, positioning Queenwood as a leader in design and technology education. In unison with a dedicated staff, Queenwood has not only elevated curriculum standards but also inspired a generation of students to embrace creativity, problem-solving and technological excellence within the classroom and co-curricular programs.

Queenwood is nationally recognised for innovation in TAS and STEM education. Every Year 8 student completes the Stage 4 Arduino Coding Program, learning C++ through The Environmental Control System Project, a fun, control system challenge. This foundation can lead to the elective Stage 5 Science of Design course, where Years 9 and 10 tackle advanced challenges in rocketry, submarines, EEG mind control and renewable energy, preparing students for tertiary STEM pathways and future careers in technology and engineering.
Beyond the classroom, Queenwood offers select co-curricular STEM opportunities that extend learning through practical application, including electric vehicle conversions, solar racing, and robotics challenges.
