St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School is a leading independent day and boarding school for girls from Pre-Prep to Year 12, with boys welcomed in Pre-Prep. Currently, the school enrols 1,462 students — 508 in the primary years and 954 in secondary — with 190 boarders from Years 6 to 12 living on campus in the heart of the school community. St Margaret’s is proud to partner with Yalari to support the education of Indigenous students.
Enrolments have steadily increased over the past decade, reaching historic highs, and many year levels are now at full capacity. In 2025, the school proudly marks 130 years of educating and empowering young women and girls.
Academic excellence remains a cornerstone of the school’s identity, reflected in the exceptional results achieved in 2024. An impressive 63.1% of the graduating class received an ATAR of 90 or above, further reinforcing the school’s strong academic reputation.
Beyond the classroom, students benefit from a rich and diverse extracurricular program, which includes extensive offerings in sport, music, the arts and a variety of clubs and activities. This broad range of opportunities enables students to pursue their interests and develop their passions.
A key strategic focus at St Margaret’s is the professional growth and wellbeing of its staff. The school’s Professional Learning Framework empowers educators to identify and address their professional development needs while assessing the impact of their growth. In a pioneering move, the school launched a dedicated Staff Wellbeing Framework last year, further cementing its commitment to fostering a supportive and thriving workplace culture.
