Leadership
Sue Floro has almost 40 years’ experience in education and has served in some of Sydney’s best schools. She commenced her tenure as Ravenswood’s 11th principal in January 2026, after serving eight years as head of the Preparatory School at Knox Grammar School. She has previously served on the School Executive at MLC School and Tara Anglican School and was president of the Independent Primary School Heads Association (IPSHA) NSW.
Floro is committed to the pursuit of excellence, and to personalising learning for all students, to ensure they are stretched every day, and providing them with opportunities to explore their passions.

Since 2021, Jennifer Richardson has led a team of over 130 professional educators across the Senior School (7-12) at Ravenswood. She also oversaw the school’s extensive co-curricular programs, including sport, performing arts, public speaking, debating and service-learning programs. Prior to Ravenswood, she was dean of staff at Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview.
With more than 20 years of experience working as a teacher and leader in a range independent schools across Australia and the US, including Xavier College Melbourne and Brentwood School for Girls Los Angeles, Richardson has helped design and implement high-quality and inclusive teaching and learning programs that promote curiosity, deep thinking and a love of learning.

Sarah Guy joined Ravenswood in 2019 and is a highly esteemed educational leader with a deep commitment to helping girls harness their unique strengths. She holds a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Education (Primary) from the University of Sydney. She is strongly committed to positive psychology and completed the Penn Positive Psychology Program for Educators in 2016.
Guy came to Ravenswood from St Catherine’s School in Waverley where she served as deputy headmistress and head of junior school for eight years. Prior to this, she was the head of junior school at Pymble Ladies’ College for five years.

Tom Riley is a dynamic, values-led leader and is recognised for his warm, engaging presence. He joined Ravenswood in 2026 from Pymble Ladies’ College, where he was a member of the Senior Executive Team; he also held roles as Head of Upper School, and most recently head of the School’s Vision Valley Campus. In each of these roles, he has successfully led strategic and operational initiatives that have enriched student wellbeing and learning at School.
Riley has a strong track record in student wellbeing, leading initiatives that prioritise student belonging, safety and personal growth.

Nicky Skinner, based in Christchurch, was honoured as NZ Adviser’s BDM of the Year. With over 20 years of banking experience – including roles as bank manager, private banker and senior lender – she brings deep expertise to her work. Skinner supports mortgage advisers with product knowledge and deal presentation skills, focusing on building strong, trusted relationships. Her collaborative approach and dedication make her a valued resource, consistently praised for her guidance and support in helping advisers achieve outstanding client outcomes.

Sarah Radonich is a third party support manager (relief BDM) at Westpac, building strong relationships with mortgage advisers across New Zealand. Her dedication was recognised nationally as a finalist for the 2025 NZ Adviser BDM of the Year award, reflecting her impact within the third party channel.

Ravenswood School for Girls pioneered the Visible Wellbeing approach to Positive Education in New South Wales, building a model that now permeates every layer of school life. For principal Sue Floro and the senior leadership team, Positive Education is the foundation on which the school is built and the means through which academic learning is delivered. Ravenswood’s results reflect that connection across every year level.
In the Junior School, the IGNITE curriculum embeds Positive Education through structured wellbeing lessons. In the Senior School, the SPARK program develops resilience, emotional intelligence, gratitude and a growth mindset as students progress through their final years.
Positive Education principles run through every Key Learning Area, and the results are recognised: Ravenswood has received Excellence Awards for Best Student Wellbeing Program at The Educator’s Australian Education Awards in 2021–2022 and 2024–2026 and has appeared on its 5-Star Innovative Schools list in seven of the last eight years.
Ravenswood’s central focus over the past year has been building student capability for an AI-enabled world. In the Junior School, a new Future Thinking and Career Dreaming Program runs fortnightly sessions for Year 4 students, connecting learning to evolving careers and industries and encouraging them to think broadly about possibilities. In the Senior School, a For the Future program for Year 10 develops the mindset needed to navigate rapid technological change, with workshops covering ethical AI use, cognitive offloading, metacognition and academic integrity.
In 2025, Year 9 students worked with Taylor Construction on a live project management brief, presenting proposals for advancing women’s leadership in construction to senior professionals. Community Forums, including a Careers Evening with sociologist and futurist Dr Ben Hamer, built a shared understanding of future career trends across students, parents and staff.
The Ravenswood Institute, established in 2016, anchors the school’s investment in teaching quality. Research grants and fellowships have taken staff to Stanford, MIT and the University of Pennsylvania. The Institute’s Professional Learning Program received a 2025 Excellence Award from The Educator. In January 2026, staff completed professional learning on Generative AI facilitated by Professor Jason Lodge and cybersecurity expert Kirra Pendergast.
Beyond the classroom, more than 100 co-curricular activities span sport, performing arts, debating, visual arts and languages. The Knox Ravenswood Cadet Unit develops leadership and outdoor skills, discipline, confidence, teamwork and self-reliance in collaboration with their male peers.
The school’s Service and Social Justice Program engages students with local and global causes, while its Global Experience Program builds intercultural understanding through tours, language immersions and exchanges. Ravenswood is also the only school on Sydney’s Upper North Shore to offer both the HSC and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, giving every student the flexibility to pursue the pathway that best fits them.
At the heart of Ravenswood’s initiatives is the school’s Positive Education model that encourages young women to emerge as resilient, critical thinkers imbued with a sense of purpose and empathy for others.
