Leadership
Kylie McCullah is an experienced leader for more than 20 years across both Sydney’s independent and systemic schools’ sectors. She began her teaching career as a technology teacher before quickly moving into pastoral and curriculum-based leadership roles, including year coordinator, head of department and director of studies. Prior to starting at Loreto College Marryatville, she held the position of head of academics (deputy headmistress) at St Catherine’s School, Sydney, where she led the academic and wider learning culture for 8 years.
McCullah is passionate about girls’ education and a firm believer that it builds strong character traits including leadership and self-efficacy, which equip young women to enter and contribute to life beyond school with knowledge, skills, confidence and determination.

Mel Pedavoli is the assistant principal of pedagogy and academic leadership at Loreto College, Marryatville. With a strong commitment to enhancing educational practices, her leadership fosters a culture of lifelong learning, resulting in significant growth and success within her teams. Previously, she served as head of drama and theatre production at Pymble Ladies’ College and has held significant roles, including head of teacher development and head of English at St Catherine’s, Sydney.
Pedavoli’s diverse experience also includes positions in drama and English departments at St Aloysius’ College, Milson’s Point and International Grammar School, Sydney. She holds a Master of Educational Learning and Leadership from UTS and a Bachelor of Education with First Class Honours from Sydney University. With 16 years’ teaching experience, she has a proven track record of driving educational change through a practice-based approach to pedagogy. Her strengths include empowering and developing others, championing best practices and fostering positive change in response to the evolving educational landscape.

Lisa Sexton is a passionate and respected educational leader with over 30 years of experience across independent Catholic and government school sectors, including over a decade in senior leadership. Currently assistant principal – head of junior school at Loreto College Marryatville, she brings visionary leadership grounded in strong values and educational excellence.
A graduate of the Executive Leadership Colloquium (NESLI), Sexton is recognised for her strategic insight and commitment to whole-child development. During her 18-year tenure at Saint Ignatius’ College, she served as director of junior primary, receiving the prestigious Praestans Award. Her career reflects a deep devotion to the holistic development of young learners.

With over 25 years of experience in Catholic education, Martina O’Connell brings a deep commitment to the formation of young people through a values-based, holistic approach. Her professional career spans both international and interstate settings, deepening her understanding of diverse school communities.
She has held a variety of leadership roles including head of department, learning area leader for religious education, religious education coordinator, pastoral care coordinator, and director of mission. Across these roles, she has demonstrated a passion for nurturing both the academic and spiritual growth of students, believing in the transformative nature of a Catholic education.
Currently pursuing a Master of Religious Education, O’Connell continues to explore and engage with contemporary theological and pedagogical thinking, ensuring her practice remains grounded and reflective of the needs of today’s young people.
