Melissa Armsden joined Brigidine College Indooroopilly in 2019. She demonstrates a passion for her subjects and an ambition to improve student standards throughout all aspects of her planning and programming. Melissa received the Early Career Excellence in Teaching award from the College in 2021. She is the leader of the “Create Meaning for Yourself” professional learning community at the College. This project was designed to enhance students’ perception of arts subjects and highlight how elective subject skills are used in core subjects to strengthen areas of weakness. As a result, student outcomes across the middle school improved by at least one band.
Melissa is a vibrant and dynamic teacher who continually strives to better her practice. She is a driving factor in the dance and music showcase each year and prepares students for additional performances, including open days and assemblies.
Furthermore, she has been integral in creating assessment items to follow the Australian curriculum and QCE syllabi. Within the classroom, she creates a safe and supportive environment, setting high standards and providing students with effective feedback, both written and verbal.

Melissa Armsden joined Brigidine College Indooroopilly in 2019.
