Amy Plumridge is the dynamic, innovative head of faculty in English and Languages at St Patrick’s College Townsville. She holds a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) degree, major in English and minor in Drama. Amy believes that fostering creativity enables young learners not only to be creative but also to embrace change and find brilliant solutions to challenges.
“I take pride in staff advocacy and always strive to support teachers in what is a very demanding subject. I love my team, and I prioritise forming positive, supportive relationships with my fellow English teachers,” she says.
In addition to having career achievements as an external examination marker (English), a presenter at the Annual State Conference for English Teachers Association of Queensland, and a mentor as a regional teacher with the Bell Shakespeare Company, she has dedicated considerable time developing programs which support the diverse academic progress and engagement of students. In 2021, these programs included Intensive English and Essential English.
